Kylie's career in law commenced in 2014 after graduating from the University of Western Australia with a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degree.
She has been practicing criminal law since her admission to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in November 2014. She is highly skilled in criminal and traffic matters, including driving and licencing offences, assault charges, domestic violence, drug matters, bail applications, spent conviction applications and child sexual abuse and pornography offences. Such an array of matters ensures that she has experience in the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Children's Court, covering both State and Commonwealth offences.
Kylie enjoys building rapport with her clients and showing compassion while working to obtain the best possible outcomes. She has a strong court presence and advocates fearlessly for her clients, achieving favourable outcomes that range from negotiated or discontinued charges to positive sentencing outcomes or acquittals. Kylie is upfront with her clients and ensures that they are kept informed every step of the way. She continues to practice with the firms values of honesty and integrity at the forefront.
Shane has been a part of the Assurance Legal team since early 2020, completing his practical legal training with the firm. In December 2020, Shane was admitted to practise as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. From the start of his legal career, Shane has enjoyed practising in diverse areas of criminal and traffic law.
Shane engages openly and honestly with his clients as he strongly advocates in their best interests. Shane has practised in the Magistrates Court and the District Court, and has experience with both State and Commonwealth offences. He is non-judgemental and strives to achieve positive outcomes for his clients regardless of their circumstances. Shane is an approachable and hard-working lawyer who brings a fervorous commitment to all clients.
Nicolla graduated from Curtin University in 2018, with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours, majoring in International Relations. Her honours dissertation focused on the challenges of the International Criminal Court. She commenced studying her Juris Doctor at the University of Western Australia in 2022.
Nicolla joined Assurance Legal in March 2020, as the firm’s legal receptionist. Since 2022, she transitioned to a role as a law clerk. She provides support for complex legal matters, including preparing briefs, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and providing support at trial.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked in the not-for-profit sector.
She is the friendly face that greets you as you enter our office and the helpful voice answering your calls. She has 10 years’ experience working in administration roles and prides herself on her customer service skills. Tayla is always willing to listen and help however she can.
