What the law says
- s 32 Bush Fires Act 1954 (WA) – a person who
- wilfully lights or causes to be lit or attempts to light a fire or places items together to indirectly cause fire (match, magnifying glass etc)
- under such circumstances as to be likely to injure or damage a person or property, whether fire be caused or not,
- is guilty of a crime (penalty: 20 years imprisonment)
